Todd Robinson, the owner of Alpaca Valley Farms, graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a PhD in anima growth and nutrition. Since his graduation he has worked at Brigham Young University. One of his research focus has been studying nutrition in camelids. His work has not only looked at North American camelid nutrition, but he has spent time in South America working with students at several universities who were studying camelids. He mentored over 50 students from South America, in conjunction with faculty from the universities.

April 2008
The Camelid Center was organized by Dr Robinson with the purpose of conducting research and providing learning opportunities for university students from the US or from South America. The Center is also open to producers who want to learn a variety of husbandry skills.

December 2009
We are working with Dr. Isaac Bott to offer more indepth reproductive services. Dr. Bott will also be conducting camelid reproduction research in conjunction with The Camelid Center.

September 2010
The Camelid Center received a grant from the USDA-NRCS-UT to investigate the scalability of a manure digester and determine the amount of methane generated from the digester.
